Well the tv finally came back on the 7th of January. It switches on. But the picture is striped as you can see.

Dinner for one one on Philips HDTV
It's a german tradition to watch "Dinner for one" on tv on new years eve.
Our friends were determined and since the Philips TV was still awol in the philips repair workshop this is the set-up we had.
Luckily the aldi laptop we'd bought years ago before t-dvb was awailable in this area included a t-dvb tuner so we were able to watch the program huddled around the laptop with a second monitor for those lucky enough to squeeze onto the sofa :-)

It's all about my Philips flat-screen HDTV
52PFL9632D (52" LCD Television). Lasted 5 months - future (seems to be lost somewhere in the oblivion of Philips support.
Why I'm giving up on Philips
After over 20 years of buying Philips devices I've run into Philips support (or lack of it)...
